New 1000m tall home, hotel and office tower for Dubai

Rising from the deep, 200 storeys high…

As tall as seven Godzillas, Dubai’s next mega-project is the Nakheel Tower, the centrepiece of the Nakheel port and harbour complex. The one kilometre high tower will have over 200 floors and will be able to accommodate 100,000 people in its homes, offices and hotel rooms. When complete the Islamic influenced Nakheel Tower will be the world’s tallest building, towering 200m over the Burj Dubai Tower which is itself still under construction.

Because of its height, the temperature at the top of the building could be as much as ten degrees cooler than at the bottom. 150 high-speed lifts will allow people to see the sunset twice, at both the bottom then the top of the building.

As well as the Nakheel tower, the complex will boast another forty towers ranging in height from a mere twenty to ninety floors, 19,000 residential apartments, 3,500 hotel rooms and a super luxury 100-room hotel the top of Nakheel tower.
