Atlantis Hotel, Palm Jumeirah more details and pics
The Mail has a set of great photos of the new 113 acre, £800 million Atlantis Hotel resort. And it has to be seen to be believed. Sitting proudly atop its palm tree shaped artificial island the 1,539 room hotel boasts a £13,000 per night suite complete with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and an 18 seater gold leaf dining table. For the rest of us, standard rooms start at about £230 per night.
The lavish sea themed resort has a giant open-air fish tank with 65,000 fish, stingrays and other sea creatures not to mention a dolphinarium with more than two dozen bottlenose dolphins flown in from the South Pacific. Another sea themed feature is the Leap of Faith water slide with a 27.5 metre vertical drop followed by a rapid slide through a transparent tunnel inside a shark-filled aquarium.
This is only the start of the development on the island though, a Trump hotel is planned and the now decommissioned QE2 will dock there to become a hotel and tourist attraction.
